“I have attended two calls so far, and the program has already helped me strengthen my confidence.”Shreoshi Bhattacharjee, mentee, pilot cohort
Why SEOTalk started a mentorship program
Good mentorship is hard to find, especially early in a career. A course can teach you a skill, but a mentor can help you decide which skills matter, how to handle a difficult client, or when to take the next step.
SEOTalk began as a weekly Twitter chat and grew into a community that meets on Twitter Spaces and webinars. The mentorship program turns those conversations into one-to-one guidance. We piloted it with a small women-focused cohort through Women in SEOTalk, and we are now expanding it to the wider community.

The program team
Meet our first mentors and mentees
Our pilot ran through Women in SEOTalk, bringing together women from different backgrounds and experiences. Thank you to our mentors for giving their time so generously, and to our mentees for bringing their curiosity and courage.
What the pilot cohort says so far
We asked our first mentors and mentees how the program is going. Here is what they told us.
I joined the mentorship program to get some guidance on my career beyond day-to-day work, especially around upskilling, communication, stakeholder management and other things that become important as you grow. So far, the conversations have given me a lot to think about, along with practical guidance. I find it helpful to talk through some of the situations I find challenging and get a different perspective.
First of all, I want to thank Shweta for organizing this mentorship program. I have attended two calls so far, and the program has already helped me strengthen my confidence. I have also received guidance on improving my public speaking and on using social media to build my own brand as a digital marketer.
I’m really enjoying mentoring Surabhi and being part of this mentorship programme. I try my best to guide, mentor, and motivate her along the way. What I really appreciate about her is that she takes my suggestions positively, tries to understand them, and genuinely puts them into practice. It’s been a great experience so far!
The mentorship programme gave me a space to share real experience, but also to reflect on my own journey. I loved the honest conversations, the connection with another woman in SEO, and the reminder that sometimes confidence grows faster when someone simply listens, challenges you, and believes you can do more.
It means a lot to know that my experience can help another woman on her journey. I’ve been equally inspired by the women I’ve met through the program: their curiosity, their determination to keep learning, and the way they continue to grow while navigating real challenges.

Our pilot matched six pairs. Sponsors help us take the program to the whole SEOTalk community, so more people in SEO get one-to-one guidance from practitioners who have done the work.
If your organisation wants to support the next generation of SEO professionals, we’d like to talk.
In the pilot, mentees have worked with their mentors on upskilling, stakeholder management, public speaking and building a personal brand. Your support helps more people get that kind of guidance.
